In Situation 1 (2000), a piece made specifically for Hales Gallery, the camera pans along a line of Hypermarket check out girls. There is no activity, there are no customers. The camera scrutinizes the signs of inactivity.
Time passes. The camera rolls, the women wait.
As the lens passes each cashier, the passage of time is marked.
