Happy-End (Le Petit Poucet) is the fruit of a triple meeting between the French composer and stage director Georges Aperghis, the Belgian video-artist Hans Op de Beeck and Le Petit Poucet (Tom Thumb), the children’s tale written by Charles Perrault in 1697. Receiving its premiere on the stage of the Lille Opera, this musical and video creation, which is not a show for children, is performed live by 16 musicians from the ensemble Ictus. How to reveal, through this fairy tale, the incredible melding of cultures to which we are witness, that is the musical, visual and philosophical subject of this show?
