With 'The Night Walkers', visual artist Hans Op de Beeck makes his first theater performance for children.
A father with three daughters. They live in an old caravan at the foot of a dark forest, near a large highway on a mysterious lake. The father is ill. Dying. He calls his daughters together and gives them a final assignment: they have to go out together. Every daughter gets a backpack full of small details. The backpack may only be opened at night and the contents may be allowed, only according to a plan drawn up by him. When the father dies not much later, the daughters go into the night. Nobody knows where the trip will lead them.
The experience of time and space are essential concepts in the work of visual artist Hans Op de Beeck. That is no different in De Nachtwandelaars, his first theater performance for children.
