Glasstress

This exhibition showcases works by the world’s leading contemporary artists, given new life in glass by Murano glassmakers. Among them are sixty names that are already well known to the Russian audience from the previous exhibitions held in the State Hermitage Museum, namely Ilya and Emilia Kabakov, Jan Fabre, Jake and Dinos Chapman, Tony Cragg, Lucio Fontana and Jaume Plensa.

Also on display are pieces produced by such seminal artists as Ai Weiwei, Jean Arp, Wim Delvoye and Mona Hatoum. This broad range of authors gives the Hermitage visitors a glimpse of contemporary artistic life in a global dimension. The exhibition also provides an insight into the modern use of traditional glassmaking technologies in creating contemporary artwork.

The exhibition is organised by the State Hermitage Museum in partnership with Berengo Studio, Murano, Venice.
