Vanitas Table Series of sculptures, 2016.

These works are solid still lifes, sculpted in monochrome grey, and allude to the classical vanitas paintings of earlier periods.
They’re composed of the most commonplace objects, both classic and very contemporary. Sculptural versions of the taxidermist’s art, plants, bottles, instruments, vases, fruit, skulls, cigarettes, mobile phones, candlesticks and so on, form uniquely assembled compositions that represent our present environment, certainly, but also work as memento mori, reminding us of the transitory nature of human existence.
