The kinetic sculpture 'Crows' features three crows sculpted at a smaller scale that appear to fly one after another at varying heights. Their flight, driven by a mechanical system, creates the illusion of movement while keeping them suspended in place. These crows evoke fables where animals take on humanized roles, drawing from the age-old tradition of toy-like, mechanically animated figures. This tradition often evokes a calming melancholy through the repetitive, joyless nature of the movement. Simultaneously, it is remarkable how lifelike such mechanically simplified motion can sometimes appear.
