‘Constellation (Passion)’, ‘Constellation (Touch)’ and ‘Constellation (Desire)’ are part of a new group of small autonomous metal wall pieces incorporating small spheres, text and delicate straight and curved rods into an almost graphic composition. While the works, like Op de Beeck’s ‘Orrery’ pieces, allude to astronomy and the idea of constellations in space, they are also deliberately naive and playful ensembles that bring together a free, light-hearted interplay of form and language, with a wink to early 20th century modernism.
